Meeting Notice

The next meeting of the Mercer County Active Fire Chief’s will be on Wednesday 2/13/13 at the Dempster Center 19:30 hrs. We will have the vote on the dues increase and will pick the committee to review the County SOG”s 1 member from each of the Associations County Chief’s, Tri Twp, Suburban, Hamilton and Central.
 

New Law

On August 8, 2012 the Governor signed S199 into law. The new law, which takes effect immediately,  prohibits first responders from photographing persons being assisted or disclosing photographs of such persons without their consent. A first responder includes both paid and volunteer fire fighters, paid or volunteer emergency medical providers, as well as law enforcement officers.

About Us

The Mercer County Active Chiefs Association is an organization comprised of all the Chief Fire Officers of Mercer County New Jersey. There are three organizations that comprise the Active Chiefs Association, Hamilton Chiefs Association, The Tri-Township Chiefs Association and The Suburban Chiefs Association. This organization is tasked with ensuring that communication between the three organizations is ongoing and that there is a mutual understanding of the operational procedures in Mercer County.

Our Goal

It is the goal of this association to promote training and safety in the fire service. This association is not governed by the County of Mercer, it is a voluntary organization of the leaders in Mercer County's fire service both career and volunteer who are committed to ensuring the safety and preparedness of the fire-fighters in this county meet the needs for the tasks they are called to perform.

Special Thanks!

Special thanks to the people who worked countless hours to prepare the grant application awarded by FEMA for 2.9 million for the regional radio interoperability enhancement for Mercer County and also to Brian Hughes and the county Freeholders for their support with the infrastructure for this project and their continued support of the Fire Service within Mercer County.

Foam Engine

As part of a task force the County of Mercer has purchased an Engine for the transportation and deployment of 1-3% Universal Gold Foam. This will compliment the Suburban Chiefs Foam Task Force. It carries 500 gallons of both water and foam with a 1000 gallon per minute (gpm) pump. The Mercer County Task Force Includes crash trucks from Mercer Airport as well as the Suburban Chiefs 3 Trailers. The Engine is located in Hamilton Station 19.

Chief 10 begins retirement after 41 years!

This is a message from Chief 10 Walt Bronek of the Hamilton Hazardous Material Response team as this is his final day at work after 41 years with Hamilton Twp.
 
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of the Emergency Services of Mercer County. As today is my final day as I begin retirement. I must say over the years the Emergency Services has been very supportive and always professional. Thanks for all of your help in Emergency Management and Hazardous Materials Response.
